Favorite part of the job: Currently, my favorite part of my job is EVERYTHING! I’m not saying that because it’s cliche of an award recipient, I really do love each role I play at ADAPT. The pandemic allowed me to tap into hidden talents I didn’t know I had, such as my hosting role for ADAPT’s “podcast” type of programming called Wake Up ADAPT! as well as the expansion into hosting a variety of events within the agency. And I have always loved my role as a Director, planning programs the participants visibly enjoy.
Best experience on the job: The best day/experience was when my cohost and I were honored at the ADAPT Community Network Gala in 2023. It’s always nice to be recognized within the agency, but for me, it was even more of an honor for so many others within the community who support what this field does to show appreciation for such innovative programming that we had no idea would such a necessity during the pandemic. Years later and I still feel like a local ADAPT celebrity.
Movie Moment: When I traveled to Puerto Rico for the first time I needed an Uber to the resort. The Uber driver I happened to get must have been one of the nicest people I have ever met. Her offered to be a personal tour guide/chauffeur for the entire trip and he did! He took me to see the best sights, local/family restaurants, the areas where locals go, the “city life” and was able to give me so much history and facts about the island. He did it all for a “souvenir” tip, so now we both have matching shot cup!
