Favorite part of the job: The most favorite aspect of my job is to put a smile on the face of the individuals we support knowing I am able to help them achieve a goal or a desire that has brought them joy or to simply help them have a great day. I work with individuals who have varying degrees of independence and providing them care and support that still helps them feel good about themselves and in charge of their lives is also gratifying.

Best experience on the job:  One of the best days in my job was when one of my individuals said she appreciated me being here and hoped I did not leave, as I treated them with respect and looked after their needs.
Another is when I took three individuals to watch the Memorial Day Ceremony and one individual voluntarily went over and thanked the only uniformed active soldier for her service, with tears in her eyes, requested permission to hug her and this started a chain reaction of hugs, tears and pictures.
