About Me
Genre: Comedy/Adventure
Favorite Actor: Matt Damon
Favorite Actress: Julia Roberts
Bingewatching Snack: Tortilla Chips
Favorite part of the job: I don't have just one favorite part of my job. I truly enjoy many facets of my job. I love working with the children, my coworkers and continuing to grow in my knowledge and therapeutic skill.
I love seeing the smiles of each child and connecting with them on their level. Helping a child achieve a milestone, however big or small, is always cause for celebration. My coworkers are like family. We laugh a lot and collaborate on creative ways to help our students achieve their goals.
Best experience on the job: There is one little boy I had worked with since he was 2 months old. He was initially only able to hold his head up against gravity for 1-2 seconds. After several years of hard work and determination, he independently crept forward on his hands and knees with his head elevated from the floor! The first time he did this we cheered so loudly and he had such a proud smile. He has continued to flourish and independently explore his environment, and now walks with an assistive device.
Movie Moment: When I was a new therapist, I was cheering for a little girl who did a great job walking down the stairs. I was kneeling in front of her at the bottom of the stairs. As I was cheering she coughed... directly into my open mouth. The timing was something else!
