Senator Schumer Vows To Restore Cuts To 340B Drug Pricing Program

The federal 340B Drug Pricing Program was enacted by Congress in 1992 and allows hospitals that serve a disproportionate share of low-income and uninsured patients to purchase drugs at a 20 to 50 percent discount, while keeping their Medicare reimbursements at non-discounted levels.
