27 Oct CP State & NYDA Partners Develop Legislative Priorities
CP State and its partners in New York Disability Advocates (NYDA) have released its 2026–27 Budget Priorities, calling for continued investment in the I/DD system to strengthen workforce stability, modernize infrastructure, and support frontline care workers. Key proposals include a 2.7% Targeted Inflationary Increase, expanded capital funding for housing and facility improvements, and several “CareForce” affordability initiatives to make housing, healthcare, and childcare more accessible to Direct Support Professionals and human services workers.
CP State encourages all Affiliates to review the NYDA budget asks and share them in your meetings with legislators. Your feedback from these discussions is vital to shaping advocacy efforts across the state.
