04 Feb CP State Marks 80th Anniversary with Renewed Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Support
2026 is a landmark year for CP State. As the organization celebrates 80 years of advocacy and service for New Yorkers with disabilities, it is also looking toward the future of healthcare equity.
To start the year, CP State is proud to announce it has been named a 2025-2026 grantee of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
Turning Advocacy Into Action through CHOP

While CP State has spent eight decades advocating for the rights of the disability community, the Community Health Outreach Program (CHOP) is where that advocacy meets direct action. This vital funding allows us to continue bridging the gap between what Medicaid covers and the actual healthcare needs of the people we serve.
CHOP ensures that individuals with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities aren’t left behind by a complex system. By providing the outreach and specialized support that falls outside of traditional coverage, we are able to move beyond just talking about health equity and start physically delivering it to New Yorkers who need it most.
A Legacy of Support
The grant arrives as CP State reflects on its eight-decade legacy of fostering communication and education. By strengthening these community-based services, this partnership with the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation underscores a shared commitment to improving real-world health outcomes.
As CP State enters its 80th year, the renewal of the CHOP initiative ensures that we continue to provide more than just a voice for our local Affiliates—we are providing the tangible resources that change lives every day.
